Comments: Reintroduced in 1962-1964. Subsequently, eggs were imported from the USA, Canada, New Zealand. Austria and France (Ref. 13364). Species is prone to disease and may have introduced new parasites. Used widely in aquaculture (Ref. 1739). Wild fish occur as escapees from ponds. Wild populations are found in all rivers of Jutland adjacent to trout farms (Ref. 13364).     Ref:  Welcomme, R.L., 1988
